Ignite Your Imagination: A Basic Introduction to Inspirational Abstract Art

I didn't always connect with abstract art, but during the times I worked in realestate, I came to admire the many beautiful abstract paintings that lined the walls of homes and offices.  Normally when I see a painting, I can identify immediately whether I could paint it or not.  However, when it came to abstract paintings, I pondered over the

Finding Your Muse

Inspiration is everywhere. Look to nature, music, emotions, or even everyday objects to spark your abstract art journey if you have an interest to paint in abstract. Embrace the unexpected!  If you're searching for abstract wall art, examine your space, then choose pieces according to color, size and an emotional connection.

For example, the red segment explodes into jagged, energetic shapes, while the blue segment flows into calm, undulating waves. High contrast lighting to emphasize the vibrancy of the colors. Style: Graphic, bold. Technical specs: 4K resolution, vibrant colors.

The Element of Color

Explore how colors evoke different emotions and use them strategically to convey your intended message within a painting you paint or one that you choose for your walls.  For example, Red denotes passion, blue denotes tranquility, and yellow gives a feeling of joy.

I normally use colors that sooth the soul, that bring joy, peace and inward healing. Determine the colors you wish to best reflect your message or story on canvas.

Embrace Imperfection

Abstract art is about expression, not perfection. Don't be afraid to experiment, make mistakes, and learn from the process. Let go of control!  This can be a difficult lesson for some people who love perfection.  I had to work into abstract, while my husband began painting immediately in abstract with his first painting.  Don't resist expression, let it guide you into a unique world of color, broken lines, shapes and symbolism.
