About Abstract Painting

Gallery of Abstract Art

This is a random image and not a painting.  At this time my abstract paintings are not available for display on this website.

Defining Abstract Art Painting

Abstract art departs from representational accuracy, using shapes, colors, forms, and gestural marks to achieve its effect.

It explores non-objective compositions, focusing on the intrinsic qualities of the elements themselves rather than depicting recognizable objects or scenes. Therefore, abstract paintings are an expression of the artist, rather than an expression of a perfected or realistic form.

However, they are an interpretation of what we interpret artistically from our senses.  However, abstract art that has a broad appeal is based on color, position, shapes and forms as stated in the first paragraph.

What I Learned About Abstract Painting

Abstract paintings must be realized from the soul through each color and brush stroke loosely painted onto the canvas. With much practice I learned that perfection in such a painting is a flaw.

When I first began painting in abstract, my left brain was constantly screaming that it wanted perfection.  I continaully changed a beautiful stroke into something I could recognize until I finally realized the need to let my right brain take over.

One stroke at a time, I finally saw the light! I understood the need to let the paint and brush create in the moment what my soul wanted to express. I understood abstract painting from my point of view. My art wouldn't be like any other artist, it would be mine alone.

Learning to rely on my right brain to paint in abstract opened a whole new creative world for me. I still love to paint the likeness of things, people and animals, but this is all me. I am the creator and in charge of the outcome of the paint on canvas.  But is it really me who creates? Or is the the One Who created me.

God and all His wisdom gave me this purpose, just as He has given a specific purpose to everyone. It's up to each of us to express that purpose to our best ability, and it lies in the expression of our Utmost Highest and Omnipotint God. So who am I to fight His will when it leads to so much adventure, fun and learning knew things.

Conclusion

My conclusion on the subject is that when it comes to art or anything, it is possible to create something that doesn't visually exist. There is so much more to see by faith.

Finding Beauty in Art:

Inspiring Abstract Gallery

A photorealistic image of an abstract acrylic painting that utilizes drips, splatters, and layered textures. The colors should be a mix of soft, earthy tones with bright pops of color, showing the beauty that can be found even in seemingly chaotic expressions. The overall mood should be one of peace and serenity, highlighting the appreciation for the imperfect, natural beauty of the artwork.
