A Rose From My Husbands Garden - Spring through Summer I'm touched by a rose a day. My husband brings me a red or yellow rose from his garden to decorate my studio. I've been putting off painting the red ones until now. Also, I shaped one of the petals into a heart because each rose is a symbol of his love and care.
I wanted "Touched by a Rose" to be a mesmerizing painting that captivates the viewer with a vibrant sense of color and delicate imagery of a single rose. The red hues of my husband's roses are rich and velvety and their petals unfurling outdoors like silk in the gentle breeze. So, I painted each with layers of acrylic paint that are infused with deep crimson hues that seems to glow from the golden beams of sunlight.
Perched on a slender stem at the top right of the rose is a small blue bird, contemplating the warmth of the sun, while pondering the beauty of the rose with curiosity and wonder. I enjoyed painting the contrast between the vivid blue of the bird and the intense red of the rose, creating a striking visual impact of the delicate interaction between these two creatures of nature. In the background, the sun casts a bright yellow and gold glow, flooding the scene with warmth and light.
The warmth of the sun seems to envelop the entire painting, infusing it with a sense of tranquility and serenity which fits into my commitment to remain at peace no matter what is happening for clarity of mind and spirit.
I hope that "Touched by a Rose," moves your senses to feel the soft petals beneath your fingertips, the gentle rustle of the breeze in your ears, and the warm embrace of the sun on your skin.
