Which Art Form Do Your Prefer? Realism or Abstract Realism!

Introduction
Art is a form of expression that reflects the world around us, prominent styles that have emerged over the years are Real and Abstract Realism. While both styles aim to capture reality in their own ways, they differ in their approach and execution. I prefer abstract realism and this is the type of art most prevalent in my gallery.
As I continue to paint, I lean more on the abstract side than realistic. This is because the more abstract paintings I do, the more I am able to interpret an image from my creativity rather than from it's real character or image.
What Is Realism In Art?
Realism, which emerged in the 19th century, focuses on accurately depicting the natural world and everyday life. Artists using this style strive to portray objects, people, and scenes with precision and detail, often techniques such as chiaroscuro (the use of light and shadow) and perspective to create a sense of depth and realism.
The subject matter of Realism often revolves around common, ordinary subjects, and the overall philosophy of the style is to present an objective representation of reality as it is. One of the most famous artists associated with Realism is Gustave Courbet, known for his painting "The Stone Breakers," which depicts two laborers breaking rocks.
Another notable artist is Édouard Manet, whose work "Olympia" caused controversy for its frank portrayal of a nude woman. These artists and their works exemplify the principles of Realism by capturing the rawness and truthfulness of everyday life. These styles encourage artists to experiment with new techniques and ideas, ultimately enriching the art world with diverse and innovative works.

Realism and Abstract Realism are two distinct artistic styles that offer unique perspectives on reality and representation. While Realism aims to accurately depict the natural world with precision and detail, Abstract Realism combines realistic elements with abstract techniques to create a sense of ambiguity and mystery.Many well-known artists believe that by registering brushstrokes on the canvas that standout or rather don't blend into the painting, it makes the work interpretative rather than the same as a photograph or print. Some of these artists say that their most abstract interpretive paintings sell faster and more than their more realistic paintings.
By exploring these styles and the works of famous artists associated with them, we can gain a deeper appreciation for the diverse and dynamic nature of art.
